Fudge is the perfect dessert. It’s rich; it’s chocolate; everybody loves it. I also believe fudge is what makes a house a home. All that being true, I’ve never made fudge over the stovetop. Why bother when you can make it in a microwave? It’s so simple, too. This recipe has never failed me. You’re only ever 4 ingredients away from homey fudge.
Microwave Fudge
Ingredients(Makes 16 servings):
- 1 cup(8.5oz) of chocolate chips
- 1 stick(4oz) of butter(or Earth Balance)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup cream(or non-dairy substitute)
- handful of chocolate chips(optional)
- 1/4 cup crushed walnuts(optional)
Melt together the chocolate chips and butter. Sift in the powdered sugar and pour in the cream. Mix until completely homogenized.
If you want to include any toppings, drop them on top and push them in gently.
Put this in the refrigerator for a few hours to harden. Cut cold and serve at room temperature.
I had never tried this recipe with chocolate chips before. “What’s the point?” I thought. But the whole chocolate chips add a great crunch in the fudge that really stands out. Dare I say it’s my favorite batch ever? Yeah, it’s that good.
I love how you don’t even need to move it to a different dish. Make, set, and store in gladware. Excellent.
That looks amazing!!! I love how quickly I can go from some chocolate chips and cream to full-on fudge with this recipe — wish I had known about this last week when I needed desserts for some dinners we had at our house. Girl Scout Cookies had to do, but dare I say this looks even better?!!
I agree about fudge being a perfect dessert. It’s got that richness that satisfies any chocolate craving. I love this recipe because it seems so easy and I already have all the ingredients 🙂 I’ll be making this tonight!
Perfect dessert, indeed!
mmmmmm. damn!
I’ve made this before and can vouch for the fact that it’s awesome. I love the addition of chocolate chips though!!
Fudge was my go to Christmas present in college for everyone because it was all I could afford. I may need to make a batch for myself now 🙂
Evan, you have the BEST recipes!!!!
That’s almost TOO easy to make 🙂
fantastic!!
oh my….i have to make this. it looks too good.
You are like the god of magical desserts or something.
I make fudge-like “frosting” all the time…I will pretty much do what you did with the fudge, butter, choc, powdered sugar, and then pour that on top of a pan of bars/dessert, also with some added choc chips for texture, and it’s like fudge on TOP of dessert. Can’t beat it 🙂
you have made this too easy….I will now go make 4 batches of this and eat myself to sleep…jk jk, but I will go make some :-p
Brilliant.
I adore fudge. ADORE. Can’t wait to try this recipe!
This looks absolutely sinful and delicious – now I just need to figure out how to vegan-ize it so I can have some too! 😉
Earth balance + coconut milk is how I made mine
I think this is the perfect recipe for me 🙂 Easy and fudgy!
I’m not going to hide it; I love using my microwave. And fudge recipes that don’t involve sugar thermometers. Awesome!
Microwavable fudge is one the most genius and dangerous foods of all time.
Genius because it’s so fast.
Dangerous for the same reason. 🙂
Oh my goodness, I was drooling at the mere site of this! Of course, I have all ingredient on hand. Will power. Must use will power!
I’d really like to grab a piece out of my computer!
You know that this deserves an O.M.G.! I can’t believe that you’ve done this… I can’t wait to get to it…hello hips!
Yay!! now I can make fudge at any time during the day.
…oh wait, this could be bad
Fudge is great but I find that only a little is all I ever need because the sugar content is so high.
Waw!! That chocolate fudge looks amazing & is looking so pretty too!
MMMMMM,…easy to make as well!
[…] house to bring them the fudge I promised them! Yesterday I made some of The Wanna Be Chef’s Microwave Chocolate Fudge. I halved the recipe and it was fairly easy to make. It was way too sweet for my liking, but it […]
